And here I thought Aunt Vicky had “The Talk” with her….
How children are made and what sex is (the talk)=/=talking about how you get off. Most people talk about sex, protection against kids (mostly condom, maybe pills for girls) and that doing it without can give you diseases or knock you up. Most parents probably don’t talk about masturbation even IF they caught their kid doing it, other than to mention that they shouldnt do it out in the open.
Heck of a way to do it, but Tanya just Leveled Up in the Game of Existence. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes not, but it’s part of growing and accumulating knowledge and the game is never the same for any two individuals. Yeah, might sound a little flippant, but I learned long ago if I let emotions dictate my reactions I’d have gone mad or worse.
And Going by Pufnstuff’s comment, I have to agree with the assessment that Tanya’s aunt may have glossed over a few details.

Nope. The bad came from her exposure to the beginning of learning about her sexuality. There are far better ways, and what was taken from Tanya was her most precious gift to give someone that she cared about. To give another one’s virginity is perhaps the greatest gift besides life that one can receive or bestow.
I mean, that seems out there given virginity is a made up concept, but all right.
And how is virginity a ‘made-up’ concept? Not to be combative, but that one requires a little explanation.
Virginity is normally described in physical form as a flap of skin over the vagina, not your first time having sex. To be blunt this virgin piece of skin rips like shed snake skin, normally called the hymen, but sometimes in other cultures identified otherwise. You can lose your virginity to a bike, to a doctor treating a rash, to your parents cleaning you up as a baby, to a horse ride. Ah. You’re one of those, and don’t take that in the wrong context. I figured that my intention was rather clear in that Tanya’s decision to have sex for the first time with the individual of her choice was taken from her, particularly as that’s a rather important and big step in any individual’s life and the path to maturity.
Well that is the thing, her “sex for the first time with someone of her choice” was not taken from her, cause what happened was her first time with someone she didn’t choose, crudely put, she lost her rape virginity, now this is of course a bad one to lose and no one should ever lose it. To be blunt, if she doesn’t remember it, and might grow up forgetting it. Is it she lost her virginity? She could grow from this, forget it ever happened, live a normal life. Would that make her not a virgin if she forgot and believed herself one? That’s where I went. If she forgets this whole thing and grows up healthy and not reminded, she can be a virgin still.

Like I stated, virginity in many ways, is a state of mind.
A bit too late to the party, but I remember a guy’s thread on Reddit where he asked people what to do to comfort his girlfriend (who said she “lost her virginity” due to rape when she was a girl) and while most users said that virginity “isn’t a big deal” or something similar, one of them suggested him to tell her she’s “still a virgin” in the sense that “she didn’t have sex with someone she loves yet”, and that the rape should just be regarded as an attack and not as her “first time”.
Yeah, that seemed to be lost uppon Sel, I don’t really care for society’s virginity and purity culture, it’s all made up stuff that means counting how many people you’ve been with or how many times you’ve been SA’d in my case. Everyone is a virgin in something.

We did have sex education in my Lutheran grade school (I was probably nine or ten at the time), but it was about male parts and female parts and how babies are made. I’m sure they have sex education in schools now because who knows what families might teach or might not teach. But the sex act itself was not covered of course, nor was the concept of orgasm.
