Very interesting. Didn’t expect Colin to think like that, but I like it. Scaring them is a good way to teach them, that they have to be a lot more careful. And that devilish grin in the last panel is kinda funny. 😅 I think this can go many ways now, but all in all I think Colin will notice the racism at some point, especially if Tanya and Benni tell him what really happened, and what he said. Maybe Colin cuts the “good Samaritan” off sooner or later, because it’s none of his business. No matter what… Read more »
As I understand Tanya was pretty consent to have sex with an otter boy and it seems it wasn’t clear enough to the witness which was then deferred to the polices. I’m happy Benni’s not getting any charge on this now from dad somehow. I’m surprised it has to come to this far. I’m also curious what does it mean that dad is summoning the samaritan “to help him out”. I like this comic, it’s full of suspense and fun to read.
Thing about that, though, is that Benni is a minor himself. Generally speaking, minors are not charged with statutory rape because of the issues that would arise with that (as in, who would be the victim and who would be the perpetrator if they’re both underage). Benni and Tanya are there because Henry lied and claimed he saw Benni raping her, like actual rape and not simply statutory. Had he been honest, they would have most likely just been lectured about having sex at such a young age.
Since we know that nobody is going to charge Benni in this situation, it is moot.
But IRL, these cases *have* been charged, prosecuted, and convictions have been secured.
As far as Henry “lying”… that is how you see it. From Henry’s perspective, that is what he saw. Being *mistaken* is not, by definition, lying. Even if his point of view is prejudiced.
I did say “generally speaking”; there are rare cases of minors being convicted on statutory rape but that’s not the norm. As for Henry being “mistaken”, he can be forgiven for being mistaken at first but not for continuing on that claim after being told by the very person he “saving” that no rape took place.
I wonder if Colin will change his tune once he actually meets the guy. He really should talk to Tanya and Benni first. So did the police just ignore the kids? Because I feel like Tanya at least would have spoken up and said she wasn’t raped.
Exactly my thought! Not only do polices ignore what the kids have to say, the guy ignored them and dragged them along to see the polices, may be what got polices going when the guy is still busy writing out the statement.

Wow the adults think the old fisherman is a good guy what a shock 😯 🙃 I told ya’ll this wasn’t going to play out like you would hope for 😂
That was my main point last time I discussed this. Despite his world views his actions are hailed as heroic here. Unless he randomly starts spewing his believes the adults are still going to think highly of him.

These two are going to face the whole goddamn orchestra.

So it’s going to be the scared straight treatment huh. let’s see how well it works?
What a funny twist, dad using the situation to scare some discretion into the kits >_<
this is not gonna go like dad wants doesn’t it, because what dad here doesn’t know this “good” samaritan is racist. this is definitely gonna backfired

Ooh. I think I like where this is going.
Sure! What could go wrong? This is absolutely a sound plan!!! 🙄
~Cue Chaos Singularity~
Looks like he’s going to do something foxy
That will backfire spectacularly.

Unless the laws are very different in Forest Hill (and we as yet have no indication they are), a Nine-year-old *cannot* consent.
It would be up to the parents to decide whether or not to press charges, whether she did so willingly or not.

At this point, how would they know he’s a speciest/racist arsewipe? They don’t have any context to know he’s a crappy beast.

And it’s going to be playing out of tune.
I hope they leave Benni alone. Tanya definitely needs to be scared straight though.
Knowing what we know know, this isn’t going to go well in the long run. Or short run with a racist in the house.
