Looks like Beth-Anne is the focus of Tanya’s hate and rage right now. She’s not aware that Beth-Anne was not the one to push Kaleb off the bench and that it was Jestan and Laroy who grabbed her and started beating her up as Beth-Anne stood in the background. And it looks like Beth-Anne is slowly realizing that Jestan is more trouble than he’s worth. Whether she rats him out after talking to Karmen and the police is on her. I still believe that if these two young ladies can get past their differences and mutual dislike of each other,… Read more »
Don’t count on it. Tanya did forgive Talitha for putting her finger into her vagina because she was aware that Talitha had been incapable of knowing better, and Talitha was remorseful over upsetting Tanya. But Beth-Anne seems even now to be trying to take the blame off herself for everything, and she certainly did collaborate in getting Tanya raped by Jestan. Tanya would never trust her, let alone like her.
That is a good question. She might be seeing herself in Beth-Anne and doesn’t like that future. She realizes that Beth-Anne coming to face the beast (her) took courage, knowing that there was the possibility that Tanya would beat her to a pulp. Tanya’s irrational, but honest hatred at Beth-Anne’s presence and admitting that she had no idea that her half-brother Jestan and LaRoy were going to violate her the way that Jestan did. Tanya is scared, angry and terrified that she herself unintentionally set herself up for punching Beth-Anne in the stomach and she sees the same thing in… Read more »
I’ll agree with Tanya’s reaction is understandable, and even agreeable. But at the moment I’m wondering what sleeping arrangements are going to look like. It wouldn’t be a good idea to leave Beth-Anne in the company of either Tanya or Benni, since they’d both have what they would feel is a legitimate reason to beat the crap out of her in the middle of the night.
I’m kinda looking forward to seeing how all this unfolds, especially with so many of the kits wanting to be naked in the comfort of their own homes. This new wrinkle is going to make things awkward and uncomfortable, and that’s what makes the story so interesting; seeing how our characters deal with awkward and uncomfortable developments.
While Beth-Anne wanted to see Tanya get hurt, something she’s rightfully angry about, she did come all that way to apologize. The two had no connection outside of the incident; Beth-Anne could have easily done nothing at all and would’ve been just fine. That she did go into the lion’s den (so to speak) to apologize is a huge step for a kid. Tanya has every right to refuse, but Beth-Anne is acutely aware that she’s in the wrong.
Yeah, beating up your enemy for punching you in the stomach is fine and dandy, but realizing that the ‘help’ you asked for to apply the beating, took things farther than you wanted and then going into the enemy camp not only to ‘rat’ out your help for what they did but to ask for forgiveness from the one you hurt more than intended takes some serious intestinal fortitude. I still say that if both Tanya and Beth-Anne can properly settle their differences and forgive each other for what they did, their friendship will know no bounds. Beth-Anne is what… Read more »
I don’t really see a reason for them to be friends.
They are both bullies. So was Benni recently, for that matter. Like, really’ recently. He’s still wearing the cast from the fight with Tanya. And Kaleb still has the head wound.
All of this has happened in a super short period of time…for them. I mean, for us, it’s been years, but for them it has been, like…weeks? And for Tanya’s rape, like a day or two?
It’s hard to imagine that they will be best buds. Or even buds at all. Or even wanting to know each other.
Speaking to the time-frame, Tanya’s family moved to
FH two months ago. The fight with Benni was about a week ago, and Tanya was raped yesterday.
Also Benni’s arm wasn’t broken in the fight with Tanya, his father did it when he ran away the first time.
Yeah, and and Tanya probably reckoned that she will come to town fists a swingin’ and showing the other kits that there’s a new kid in town and she is not going to be the one getting teased and bullied, something that Tanya has been doing since her and her family got into town. She’s been doing pretty much what Beth-Anne, Jestan, Laroy and Benni have been doing long before she got there. She’s learning that actions have their consequences (look at her reaction when Beth-Anne told Flora about Tanya punching her in her belly). Hell, Kaleb and Munch considered… Read more »
I don’t know about the clothes thing. Beth-Anne might be wearing the clothes that she’s told to wear. It’s possible, from things that have been implied, that somebody in her family doesn’t want her to look feminine. It’s also possible that she might be the sister that Jestan mentioned when he was attacking Tanya.
Considering what we’ve seen seeing in this comic so far, regarding how so many kids are mistreated, odds are 2 to 1 that Beth Anne doesn’t have any underwear and that’s why she’s wearing overalls.
I can’t get the South Park episode out of my head, where Stan is sent to the school counselor to talk about his hoarding disorder, but quickly realizes he’s not the only one with a problem. Insheeption was the Name of the episode i think and it looks like Mrs. V. is hoarding kids. XD
Well, let’s be honest here. Benni and Tali were pretty much forced on her because of the situation in their homes. She even protested that she can’t afford to take care of Benni when the Child Services people asked her to take care of him. So, you can’t really accuse Flora of hoarding kids.

Hoo, boy. “I have decided to house one of the people who participated in your assault literally yesterday. You don’t have a say, and if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” If this storyline is to be written with realistic characterization this should produce an enduring rift not just between tanya and beth-anne, but between tanya and flora. Realistically tanya should no longer trust flora to ensure her safety, physical or emotional. Realistically what tanya is going to take from this lecture is that she’d better not speak up if beth-anne makes her feel uncomfortable or… Read more »
In all fairness, Flora didn’t want to house Beth-Anne either. But sheep lady didn’t give her any say in the matter. She either had to house Beth-Anne for the night at Tanya’s expense, or send her back into an environment where she might get raped and/or killed for whatever reason. No matter what, it was going to be a no-win situation.

Really, after an assault that severe tanya should have a restraining order out against beth-anne (and the others). Beth-anne should be legally prohibited from even approaching her (for what that’s worth).

Well Tanya, you just got Beth-Anne to admit to what they did to Kaleb. Nice play.
That she did.
I don’t think Beth-Anne is in any mood to play with any toys anyway,
yeah, more like in the mood to fight.
Maybe not, but Tanya’s establishing the ground rules and asserting what level of dominance she can.

What motivation does Tanya have for getting along with Beth-Anne?
That is a good question. She might be seeing herself in Beth-Anne and doesn’t like that future. with all due respect, 1, 4 and 5 at least are nowhere in the storyline as written.
Flora, I get that you’re trying to keep peace, but Tanya’s reaction to Beth-Anne is perfectly understandable under the circumstances.

THUMPPER!!!!!
The truth doesn’t have to be nice. It just has to be the truth.
Kindness is very hard to give.
Especially to someone who does not deserve it.
Indeed, especially then.

What reason does Tanya have to forgive Beth-Anne, or even entertain the notion of being friends with her? Seriously, what’s the motivation?

Um, lots of little girls wear a shirt and overalls. Such as Millie of Ozy and Millie. Perhaps she influenced Beth-Anne’s character design.

Oh. Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying.

That comes later on.
I think Beth-Anne has enough smarts to know to keep away from Tanya, who is all too obviously hostile to her.
I keep reminding people, the attack was *Yesterday*.
Legal Orders take time, and the police really haven’t even become directly involved, yet.
