I have to say I have been surprised by the fact that I really have been enjoying this comic in general. However, there is one key thing that has come up a number of times that has bothered me, and so I wanted to give some constructive criticism as someone who enjoys the comic and wants to see it become even better. I’d suggest the writer take 20 minutes and do some research online on actual child sexual abuse and how experts suggest that friends and family deal with and talk to children that have survived the abuse, to help… Read more »
That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out comment. Thank you for that VERY much for it! I’ve already done research into the topic, but more is better, because new data comes out every now and then! And you are very much right that Flora shouldn’t have said it that way, but she’s also tired, grumpy, and really no better to deal with the situation than anyone else that might be thrown into it. However, she didn’t place factual blame; more of a hearsay, because Flora doesn’t want to rock that boat too much here, while still trying to protect Tali… Read more »
It also helps to keep in mind that, ATM, Flora thinks that Tali will be with her for only as long as it takes to contact Tali’s mother and get her to come take custody.
Even if she were all together after a VERY long day and night, she certainly wouldn’t be thinking of these things in long-term ways. Yet.
