2pm, huh? And we see the start of latchkey offspring. Nothing wrong with that. We were feral, self reliant creatures just like DBV describes. Glorious times indeed!
Oh, I know. I’ve known several people who did jobs they wouldn’t have normally done but they needed the money bad enough that they were willing to do something very much out of character for them.
That would of made for interesting after work conversations:
“How was work?”
“Well one of the girls got her, err, you know, err, caught, ahh, never mind.”
Flora’s going through exactly what I’m going through now; apply for so many different jobs, only to be told you’re not the right fit or need more experience. How am I going to get experience if nobody hires me!?
To coin a phrase, I feel your pain. I was in that same boat back in 1981-2 after I was discharged from the USAF. I heard, “You’re overqualified” and “You need more experience.” I felt like I was trying to get a skull fracture from beating my head against those stone walls.
That and is it my imagination or are there like a metric ass tonne of squirrels in the area the comic takes place in? I would have thought more rabbits and the like… 🤔

👀 What kind of restaurant is Flora getting herself into? It might push her comfort zone some.
i think that was one of the ones that turned her away
I read “Managers” so badly. Why Man Ag3rs?
probably everyone is making do with what sign text they have left, maybe lost the other characters to wind or vandals
i think the word experienced used up all the Es they had left so they ended up having to improvise
I remember seeing a painted sign on a building with the words “GOOD FOOD” on the side with the word “FOOD” upside-down.

Collin is building up a shop for opening soon, right? Maybe he can get her a better job there later.🤔
I recognize the “overqualified” statement. I couldn’t tell you HOW many times I heard that after I was discharged from the USAF back in 1981.
Flora must REALLY be desperate for a job if she tried to get a job where the advertising says, “Girls! Girls! Girls!”
You gotta do what you gotta do to survive and keep your kits fed… Would it been ideal for her? No, but the bills would get paid.

I live in the Chicagoland area and see far more squirrels than any other type of wildlife.
Half the people I know are Squirrels 😉
 😆
Same!
Strange, I… Don’t actually know any squirrels… And I’m quintessential furry trash!
I knew one but he has disappeared.
It’s irrational prejudice against Trash Pandas. 😉
