Interesting to think that the publication of sexual material has gotten MORE restrictive over time since that book was printed. My guess would have been for a more free and progressive view of sex since then.
In some ways yes in some ways no. Remember, the 60s esp. were a time of sex, drugs, rock and roll, booze, and anti-war sentiment. The view towards sex is…weird in a lot of ways.
In a world where various species cannot interbreed, sexuality would inherently be different. But you don’t have to be religious to fear venereal disease or pregnancy.
No you don’t. Nor do you have to be religious to fear the sexual exploitation of children by deranged individuals in positions of authority. Especially those who can have your parental rights severed quite easily if you object to what they’re doing to your kids.
And in the modern era we’re seeing books that teach third graders and younger about gender identity and sexual orientation. Along with schools that are operating without parental knowledge or consent in facilitating pre-teens to undergo gender reassignment procedures. I’d hardly regard that as being any better.
You are basing these claims on that one case i assume, where the media grosly misinformed people about what actually was going on, the child that was on hormones parents KNEW they were on hormones and supported it. There has been no case where teachers facilitated any form of gender reassingment, considering that is a medical procedure so a doctor would always have to be involved :3
I read in The New Yorker years ago about drugs parents can give their children to delay adolescence. I can assume that children who get those will grow up to be damaged adults, a la pregnant mothers who took Thalidomide.
So, after reading all this: The article states that the child was ‘forced’ to transition. You state that the child was being forced to undergo a surgical procedure. Reality: The school basically affirmed the child’s desire to have a different pronoun. While I can agree that the parents should have been a part of this discussion, there is also the idea that teachers and others that need to be able to protect a child from abuse, including abusive parents. Also unfortunately, with that particular government pushing ill-thought out bills and decrees left and right, there will come a time when… Read more »
While I did call it a procedure, I never said it was of the surgical type. We had this discussion a few months back when Tanya was angry after giving her statement about what happened to her, and one of the commenters suggested Tanya should be allowed to undergo social transitioning and become Tanner since, at that time of weakness, she expressed a hatred for being a girl. And regardless of what the schools may believe is for the best, it’s ultimately the call of the parents to make. Otherwise it’s an argument that the children belong to the state… Read more »
The state may have the right to take children away from abusive parents, but they cannot just grab them on a lark, any more than you can be arrested on a lark.
You actually can be arrested on a lark. Whether or not you can actually be charged with/prosecuted for something is another story entirely. Wrong time, wrong place? You can be arrested for that and held until they determine you didn’t do anything that can be prosecuted.
You sure talk like you’ve never heard of single-digit-aged kids coming out. It’s very easy for them to realize they’re trans and be beaten by their family. The law or them taken away and treated would be good instead of the alternative.
There’s no such thing as a trans child. And no one at the single-digit age possesses the mental facilities for making that type of informed, life-altering decision for themselves. It’s why children aren’t allowed to enter into legally-binding contracts, especially not at that age. This notion that children know what’s best for them, and their parents don’t, is pure nonsense. The parents have been alive for far longer, and have amassed far more knowledge about the real world and how it works. To believe a 5 year old somehow knows better about complex social issues such as the current state… Read more »
I just met a 6 year old that knows they like to identify as a girl. She wasn’t talking or thinking about having a full body transformation, she just likes what is mostly considered girly stuff. If she ever wants to be deemed male, then that will be that. For now, she is just being a kid.
There is one book that can be found in some libraries which contains pictures of children and adults enjoying each other’s company. And not in a family friendly manner either.
The Art Institute Of Chicago once had an exhibit of young nude girls photographed by Lewis Carroll, the author of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. My late mother saw them and did not like them.
I assume that is the idea, since porn has always been freely available for adults. Playboy magazine was founded in the 1950’s BTW.

Is it alright to laugh and think that the mammal on the cover is holding a toy bird and bee? I mean, I don’t know what are actually holding due to the lack of color but I like to laugh.
Never mind, I just noticed the lines on the side to say those are his legs, and that he his holding his joystick…my bad. I shall now disappear into darkness.

You can thank the evangelical movement of the late 70’s for that.
Back then, hardly anyone even put too much thought into it. They just didn’t care.

sexual education actually prevents exploitation cause the exploitation depends on the child being ignorant about how things actually work
That’d be a lot easier to believe if we didn’t have schools telling the students to not tell their parents about what the lesson plans included.

Is that before, or after, litterbox training?

No I’m basing the claim on this:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10775329/Mother-sues-school-helps-daughter-transition-without-parental-consent.html
The parents said no. The school overruled their decision and proceeded with neither parental knowledge nor consent.
I’m also basing the claim on the sheer amount of outrage that was demonstrated over the Parental Rights in Education bill.

Ultimately it can be traced to the Victorians. They made Prudishness fashionable again
.
The spread of venereal disease was one motive no doubt.
Undoubtedly that was one factor… but the Victorians got really, really weird about their prudishness. Almost to the point of being a fetish.

I saw that exhibit. By modern standards it was damn near Puritanical.
Wait, is the person in the picture supposed to be a kit? Or is Flora saying the sexual material in general is illegal to buy?
I assume that is the idea, since porn has always been freely available for adults. Playboy magazine was founded in the 1950’s BTW.

That’s not an Atari 2600, for sure.
