Well, she has had a couple of hours to consider what Flora had told her and, if she’s a religious person, she may have fallen back on her religious upbringing as to how she should react.
Paz and Munch’s mom doesn’t seem to be particularly religious as shown so far, but very protective and willing to go “momma bear” if she thinks it’s needed to protect her kits.
I think just getting her to the point where she may be willing to listen and talk to Flora a little bit more would be a big help toward bridging this new gap.
That is something that Margot should know about as well as what two of the kits Flora is fostering were groomed for and that those two kits were most likely made to go around in the nude when with adults that used them for sex. Also she should know that Flora has rules for the kits for when they want to be naked at home and that she is trying to help Benni and Talitha break their conditioning. Also she needs to know some of the reasons behind Benni’s bullying as she and her husband can also help both Benni… Read more »
That’s true. Unfortunately, when as a child you’re taught that certain things are bad/sinful those things will stick with you for life. In the Medieval times, it was taught to people that ANYTHING that brought you pleasure was sinful, even bathing. Heck, it wasn’t until the 1950s that that attitude toward sex started falling and even today there are pockets of people who STILL believe that sex for pleasure is a sin.
Flora has shwon a lot of indications that she is quite secretive about her past, mainly because of the abuse other knowing about it has brought her when she regaled Bennie with her story. Granted that was from her peers and not other adults, but you learn to bury that kind of thing fast as a teen and not let it back out, even as an adult.
I’m glad we’re seeing Margot’s perspective firsthand. I can see where she’s coming from, since there are a lot of people who automatically associate nudity with something sexual, but I’m glad her husband is there to give her another perspective and hopefully he’ll encourage her to make up with Flora; I’d hate to see Kaleb lose a friend over this whole thing.
Nope, I don’t thing so. People like her pretty much NEVER change their opinion. She is right. Everyone else who has a different opinion is wrong. Especially if you mix religiosity and nudity together. 😅
Yes, we don’t know much at all about their theology, or even if there are other religions that *don’t* involve the Masters. We know that there are at least two “denominations” of Masters-worshiping churches, because Colin belongs to a different one from Flora.
What we have seen is that Flora insists on going to church and Kaleb learning his religious lessons, and that she prays to the Masters, seemingly on a regular basis. We don’t have any information at all about Margot an Sancho’s religious beliefs.

Now Margot may well be thinking, “Have you ever had a SPOUSE, only to find out they aren’t what you had thought they were?”
Clash of perspectives! Clash of ideals! This comic makes me very nervous every now and then. I didn’t think about many things the first time, but looking back, I applicate how many things are coming back to haunt the MCs. It was so easy to forget, the comebacks are punches to the gut!

Man, nudity is natural. It’s perverted people and religion who make it unnatural. The same religion that cuts off children’s testicles to keep them from losing their “angelic voice”s and the same religions that say having sex with a child of God isn’t wrong, it’s becoming closer to him through the child. I’ve read way too many cases and situations. Religion can really take people places that shouldn’t be possible.
You actually believe the Vienna Boy’s Choir actually cuts off the testicles of children? It’s a myth like that of Pope Joan! In fact the Catholic Church is very much against mutilating people. You need to get out more.
The Church didn’t castrate the boys; they simply employed castratos to sing in their choirs. The actual castration were carried out by their families with the help of barber-surgeons and it was very much illegal; the parents usually just made up some excuse about their sons being attacked by a wild animal or some other reason to justify removing the organs. As for religion, I think it depends on the person who is using the religion. There are, unfortunately, some people who let their religion lead them to dark places or to use their religion to do/justify horrible things and… Read more »
Take islam for example. We’re told it’s a religion of peace. Yet its practioners go around committing honor killings because a family member embarrassed them. According to islams supporters, their holy texts don’t mention or even condone honor killings. Yet they’re carried out in the name of islam anyway. So do you blame the religion the atrocities are connected to by the practioners, or do you blame the individuals who use religion as a justification/excuse for committing atrocities?

I’m beginning to think Margot didn’t take it as well as I’d hoped she did…. :/

You could be right. I wonder if she knows about Flora’s past, including her propensity for going around sans clothing when she was a kit.

Yep.
It’s always good for there to be at least one voice of reason. Nakedness =/= dirtiness in the slightest. Hell, we’re born without clothes!

Makes it interesting that she’s busy cleaning…. might be some things to unpack there with Margot’s past as well….
When I was married anytime I got mad I cleaned something or washed dishes. Dunno why. It doesn’t make me feel better. I hate cleaning stuff.
It could be something like that.
Margot didn’t know about Flora’s hippie past?
“Hippy” isn’t generally synonymous with nudity.
I think op meant the full details. This could be something interesting for the future! I don’t know, I thought Flora let her friend go too fast.

We haven’t seen any indication that Margot is particularly religious… on the other hand we KNOW Flora is.
If I recall correctly, the worship of “the masters” has not been described in too much detail in this story.

Margot aka “The Bomb” explodes in 3… 2… 1…

Don’t blame religion, blame the people who use it and twist it to suit and justify their own sick, twisted desires.
Seriously, blaming religion for the evils of man is like blaming the bed sheets for Amber Heard crapping in them.

To be fair, I think anyone joining a choir would have to be pretty vocal.

Campion why does the keep me logged in feature not work?
I’m not sure why, but it even for me, I stay logged in per session, and not a persistent cookie. It’s something I’ve been meaning to look into.
Escatna. Is that this world’s equivalent to Espana?
That’s what I assumed.
I suppose it could be Catalina 😉
