I would think most watchers here don’t know about local and long distance telephone rates. Even across town or even across the street could involve a surcharge.
Yes, but it’s less relevant now, when most phones aren’t landline. In fact, I haven’t really heard people worry about the surcharge in the last decade. It was more a thing in the 90s.
Depending on your service provider, there can still be substantial roaming charges… tho that’s more a matter of where your *location* is when you call.
The EU (European Union) forbid the roaming charges for all providers a few years ago, because they don’t have any extra effort for this service, therefore, the additional costs are not justified. 😛
That was still a thing when I got my first cell phone in 2008. At the time I had only local service in my apartment to save on the charges, but people could still call in.

I doubt that I’m the only one here who reads “pool party” and interprets that as “skinny dipping”.
I’m guessing that the duplex Colin rents doesn’t have its own pool… making that somewhat unlikely.
Of course, there’s always the river where Benni was thinking of skinny-dipping https://www.foresthillcomic.org/comic/18d015/
I sort of formed the idea (head-canon probably) that it’s a “known” place for that sort of thing
I didn’t mean that Flora would necessarily join all the rest. But the history of this group of characters suggests that at least some will forego swimsuits. Flora may decide that the water obscures her body enough to divest herself of her suit once she is in the pool. Time (and Campion) will tell.
In a previous page she admitted that being nude reminded her too much of her husband, and was simply too painful to experience after his death. But now Colin is in the picture, they’re growing closer, and she’s becoming more willing to open up and reconnect with her roots.
I wonder who he’s calling? Paz? Wonder what’ll happen when he does. Also, dropping off Tali and Beth-Anne? Is Talitha’s mysterious mother finally back?
It’s possible Flora isn’t aware of just how bad the situation is, and doesn’t yet know that Tali’ is going to be with them for a significant amount of time.
She was told by Carmen Defay that Tali was short-term. It was implied that they had already contacted the Mother.

Anyone else think that Flora’s idea of “hashing out our family rules” is going to be little more than her making suggestions and Colin going along with them, simply because he know he’s in over his head and she’s the voice of experience on the matter?
I hope not, with any luck there WILL be some back and forth there because while Flora may be the voice of experience, I hope Colin asks questions and voices his concerns to any suggestions/rules being forged. Lets face it, the subject IS new to him and his kits and there is going to be some things that he’s going to want to address, change, or limit if he feels there is a good reason to .(including, but not limited to the fact that Flora was full fledged nudist in a VERY different environment and was “clothing-optional at home” with… Read more »

Colin appears to have been made aware of Beth-Anne’s home life situation by Flora, but did Flora tell him about Tanya hitting Beth-Anne yet?
Although, I’m worried that if anybeast else found out about that, like the police or the school, then they’ll start pointing fingers at Tanya for “provoking them”.

Yes, Colin and Flora surely must be looking forward to more “normal” times.
Too bad “normal” doesn’t make for good stories. ^_^
Worriers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose, except your clothes! (So close the curtains first, yeah?)
I love the “He’s local” bit, reminding us what time period this is supposed to be set in.

Flora hasn’t shown any inclination to go naked recently. Why should she now?

Thanks for the link. I never saw that before.
It’s an advertisement that I thought of when you mentioned “pool party”.
Wooo, more naked shenanigans ahead <3

Probably dropping them off with someone who has the space for them, or some type of shelter for abused kits.

Like Colin wouldn’t have expected Tanya to do just that?
I checked back over the previous pages, and Colin was there when that little tidbit got announced.
Oops, forgot about that.
