I have my own series of stories about a team of animal-people space aliens who visit Earth, with government permission. Many of them are adult, but here is a clean example: Showtime (A Walter Fox Story) | SoFurry
Working on a story called Pandora’s Box where humans have created a slave species called the Kahu (Constructed Anthropomorph Human Units), before anyone says anything about the Kahu beginning with a K instead of a C, I can say that sometime on their past after their creators and Masters began calling them Cahu as a derogatory term, the Kahu species adopted the name as their own before changing the C to a K. Pandora’s Box takes place a few thousand years after a great war broke out between numerous human factions over the future of the Kahu and their freedom.… Read more »
Why do so many species of monkey continue to exist when humans exist? If we’re truly that closely related shouldn’t apes, chimpanzees, gorillas, and other such regular, lesser animals have evolved into humans right alongside us?
Chimpanzees are NOT 99% human. That is a myth, as one scientist on a different forum pointed out. It came about via a misinterpretation of scientific data.
That’s true. What I read is chimpanzees and humans share 99% of their genetic material. According to evolutionary trees I’ve seen, we diverged from the line that chimpanzees are from about 4-5 million years ago. The line that chimpanzees are on diverged from gorillas about 5 million years earlier and the gorillas diverged from orangutans a few million years before that and so on.
It’s been mentioned before that there are “lesser beasts” in the world, though it doesn’t come up often. I’m more curious about why some beasts ascended to human levels of sentience while the rest remained as they were.
I don’t know about this universe but, in a story I’m currently writing, humans took animal DNA and spliced it with human DNA, creating the Humanimals, anthros very much like the anthros in “Forest Hill”. (BTW, I created my Humanimals long before I found out about “Forest Hill”.) Because they didn’t eliminate all of the ferals in creating the Humanimals, there are still plenty of ferals to remain in the world and continue their lines.
I re-read this page and I believe I found a mistake. In the fourth panel, you have Kaleb saying something that I believe is supposed to be what Talitha is saying.

Get a child into reading and you open up unlimited possibilities for them.
Reading is an undervalued thing these days, more people should grab a good book.
One of my favorite things to do when I’m not writing one of my stories.
What stories? C’mon! Share with the rest of the class!!!! Of course I ain’t hard to find in that regard…
You can find my stories here. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/drivernjax/ You’ll also find commissioned drawings of different characters I’ve created over the years.
Excellent! Thank you!!!!

Awesome! Thank you!
You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy the stories I’ve posted there.

I’d be interested if you have a link for that!!!
I have snippets of Pandora’s Box on my FA and IB
Excellent! Thanks!!!
No prob
I don’t know if it’s been established before but, now I know that ferals exist in this universe.
I wonder if they have pets too. I can imagine Talitha meeting someone walking their coonhound down the road. Would she be scared or call out “PUPPY!”
I couldn’t imagine why regular animals wouldn’t also exist in this world. Isn’t the idea that animal-people were created by humans?
Also why should regular animals be rare? I see raccoons all the time.

I thought it came about because someone wanted to be a monkey’s uncle.
Isn’t the idea of a monkey’s uncle something you don’t want to be?
You would think so, …

We share abouty 50% DNA with plants. So plants might evolve into sentient beings?

There is a webcomic with that concept called “Furthia High”. Unfortunately it’s not very good.
Human intervention is the obvious answer, based on the various religions we’ve been shown.
This is all too wholesome ^^
The Basset hound I mentioned long ago had a personality just like Talitha’s.

Good catch!
Thanks. When I re-read it, I thought, “Kaleb’s old enough to know how to pronounce beach(?) and followed. That can’t be him reading out loud.”
Wow. It’s been almost 3 decades since I read that book. I’m kinda surprised I recognized it. But it’s one that stays with you.
