Colin makes a choice.

Colin: Wait, Flora, is this what you were going to tell me? That Tanya was raped? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?
Flora: Well, I was going to tell you, but I got interrupted.
Colin: In any case, why would they send a male nurse?
Nurse: Hmmm?
Flora: Well, I find it a bit weird too, but I’m sure he can be trusted to do it, Colin.
Colin: Flora, even if he is a nurse, I’m not comfortable with a he-beast touching my daughter. Especially when it involves her vagina.
Nurse: Sir, I’m not a pedophile, if that’s what you’re implying. I’ve got a kits myself and they’re everything to me.
Flora: Look, Colin, if you aren’t comfortable with him touching Tanya, then ask for a female, but don’t call his motive into question. This is his job, colin. If you still don’t want to see it, then I’ll watch him. Just... think about Tanya, Colin. Even if it’s for nothing, let him do his job!
Colin: Fine! But I’ll be the one doing any touching.

Aren’t female nurses standard for this situation?
In the human world but this isn’t the human world. Things may be different here.
In an ideal situation, yes, a female would be preferred, and it’s even alluded to here. However, there are plenty of male gynecologists out there, and nobody bats an eye at them.
Colin, you need to be careful. You don’t want to be misunderstood and accused of something you’re not guilty of doing.
Poor choice of words at the end there Colin
any chance you will start again posting comics twice per week?
Not likely anytime soon, but it’s a god thought!
It all depends on the nurses available at any given time, and this is in the afternoon on a workday, and ER’s tend to be rather full at this point. That said I can certainly understand Colin’s reaction, and bless Flora’s heart for trying to be diplomatic. This, however, is getting towards the response/reaction from Colin that I was expecting; hackles up ad teeth bared…
This is going to continue to get ugly for some time, I believe. 😥
There seems to be a problem with the font size in this comic. The text is smaller than normal in most of the word balloons.
It’s intentional. Keep in mind WHO they are talking about.
Try using italics instead. Keeps the emphasis clear, but the font size can be larger.
When I was trying to do a webcomic, I used an all-caps font to simulate the usual look of print comics, and for whispers I used lower-case letters… But obviously that would involve you changing fonts, so it’s a less desirable option.
{They were whispering}
Sounds like the nurse overheard anyhow though…
Colin, you must be careful, there is this thing about possession of the evidence, Chain of Evidence? Legally its really important. And if the judge asks who took the sample and it is not someone trained to be ) legally ( competent, youve sunk your case. Dont mess with this, fox, justice is supposed to be impartial and impassionate.
Gah, this is just heart wrenching!
thats way creepier then letting a trained nurse do it D:
Oh there’s no way this could go wrong, her coming out F sedation at an in-opportune time, and mistakenly slicing her last memories with what’s going on currently. Sure, that cant happen?
Coming out OF sedation,…. Mistakenly spLicing,…nkay? Typos plaguing me toady. Er,…. Today.
From the looks on Benni’s face, he just realized that he left Flora’s gift at the scene of the crime and is about to have a major meltdown. I hope that Flora and Colin can handle what happened to their kits and become stronger parents in the process. However, I feel sorry for Hunter, there is a good chance that he might be unintentionally ignored and left in the dark. As for Jestan and LaRoy, they’ll be lucky if they are given community service and made to go to counseling, worst case, they’ll be sent to juvie until they are… Read more »
